It was very traumatic for the mom and she was saying &quot;no&quot; and finally &quot;get your hands OUT of me!&quot; The doctor then looked down at his hands in surprise, almost as if he hadn&#039;t realized he was doing it. This was about 5 years ago (I&#039;m a CBE, not a doula, and don&#039;t go to very many births).

		<description>Yes! I am seeing this in my area too, and have serious concerns about all this &quot;massaging.&quot; One of the reasons I love water birth - it largely keeps hands off of perineums. (Except mom&#039;s hands, of course!)</description>
