		<description>this is anecdotal, but just this morning I was at a play area and chatting w/ another mom.  I mentioned I had had a cesarean w/ my first and vbac&#039;s w/ my 2nd and 3rd.  She said she had an elective cesarean w/ her first.  
I&#039;m always stunned by this as well and asked her why.  

She indicated she had had abdominal surgery once before and knew what it was like.  She wanted pain she was familiar w/ rather than unknown pain.  

Moms are so fearful of labor pain that some will choose surgery over it.  Go figure.</description>
