A doula is a woman who helps women (and their families) in labor and birth.

General definition of what a CAPPA doula provides:

  • Timely information that encourages informed consent and open communication.
  • Resources when necessary or requested.
  • Support for expectant woman and her partner.
  • Information regarding childbirth options.
  • Assistance in formulating ideas for the birth of their child.
  • Information about a well balanced diet and fluid intake.
  • Focus on the comfort of mom and partner throughout labor and childbirth.
  • Help with creating a confident and secure environment in which to labor and birth.
  • Assistance with breastfeeding and family bonding.
  • Labor support at home, hospital or birth center.

My role as your doula, is steeped in the desire to give the best opportunity at attaining the desired without an agenda through emotional/physical support, solid education, and wise woman skills that go well beyond the birth day. I give the support you the client asks me for.

I am experienced with a variety clientele (single, partnered, married, ages from teen-40′s) and in many types of birth scenarios (natural, water birth, medical induction, VBAC, cesarean, IVF, medicated labors, precipitous labor, long labors) and locations (home, birth center and hospital).

Doula Services:

$550 included 2 1.5-2 hour prenatal visits, continuous labor support, 2 postpartum visits, email and phone support, access to vast lending library of books and dvds.

FAQ’s

I have had a child(ren), is the fee the same?: On an individual basis I will consider charging a lesser fee depending on birth history and needs.  A repeat client generally would be charged the fee from the first time we worked together.

We are active military do you offer a discount? Yes there is a 10% discount.

Do you accept barter or payment plans? Yes to both!  I understand the economically it can be a challenge.
