Preparing for Birth's midwives offer holistic compassionate home birth midwifery care to families in Colorado Springs, Pueblo, military bases, and all over the Pikes Peak Region.

Midwifery is not just a model of care. It’s a community-focused, family-centered way of being “with woman” during her strongest and most vulnerable time.

“Healthy mom, healthy baby” means far more to us than “everyone survived.” We work hard to equip every family to thrive and become healthy and whole in every way from beginning to end.

Our goal at PFB is to help you grow into a confident parent, equipped to trust your instincts and make the best decisions for you and your baby every step of the way!

Our Beliefs & Home Birth Philosophy

Our birth philosophy reflects the midwifery model of care. It is evident in everything we do at Preparing for Birth.

  • Women and babies are designed for the work of labor, childbirth, and breastfeeding.
  • Labor and childbirth transform you. This transformation has the potential to be powerful and joyful.
  • A mother and baby are a unique pair and deserve individualized, supportive, respectful care, free from routine interventions and coercion.
  • Every woman should have the option to choose the birth location and care provider that best suit her philosophy, desires, and risk factors.
  • Women are fully capable of making informed decisions surrounding all care for themselves and their babies at all times.
  • Women are not just walking incubators. They are human beings in need of physical, psychological, and social care.
  • Babies are not just babies. They are full-fledged humans with rights, feelings, and experiences all their own.
  • Pizzas are delivered. Women give birth.
